Lecturer in the field of Construction Engineering at the University of Oviedo, where she has been Associate Professor since 2010 and is a member of the GICONSIME research group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering (1998) and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Oviedo. The doctoral thesis, Identificaci\u00f3n de da\u00f1o s\u00edsmico en estructuras de edificio<\/mark><\/a><\/em><\/strong>s<\/mark><\/a><\/strong><\/em> (2004), was supervised by Prof. Jos\u00e9 Luis Zapico Valle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The academic career has been developed within the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering, combining teaching and research in structural engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research activity focuses on structural dynamics, damage identification in buildings, and numerical simulation using finite element methods. Particular attention is given to vibration-based techniques, modal analysis, and the application of artificial intelligence methods, such as neural networks, for structural health monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This work has resulted in publications in international journals in the fields of structural engineering and computational mechanics, as well as participation in competitive research projects related to structural analysis, model updating and sustainable construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research activity also includes international collaboration through research stays in institutions such as the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, the University of Sheffield and the University of Bristol, contributing to the development of advanced methodologies for structural assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
