ACTIVITIES

TASK 1: FORMULATION AND CHARACTERIZATION
1.1 Mix design with different percentages of nnps-ZnO and SiO₂.
1.2 Mechanical testing (compressive and flexural strength).
1.3 Thermal and hygrothermal characterization.
1.4 Carbonation resistance and fire performance.
1.5 Electrical resistivity and piezoresistive response.

TASK 2: NUMERICAL MODELLING
2.1 Macroscale models for mechanical, thermal, and carbonation behavior.
2.2 Mesoscale models incorporating material heterogeneity.
2.3 Advanced constitutive models using the Finite Element Method (FEM).

TASK 3: EXPERIMENTAL VALIDATION
3.1 Validation of numerical models with lab-scale specimens.
3.2 Comparison of mechanical, thermal, and carbonation behavior.
3.3 Evaluation of model accuracy for predictive applications.

TASK 4: SCALING-UP
4.1 Fabrication and testing of 2-meter-long beams under flexural loading.
4.2 Construction of 1m² wall prototypes for climatic chamber testing.
4.3 Evaluation of scalability and durability of self-sensing LWC.
